The CCIS decided to sponsor an Indian Scholar carrying a perspective towards India, to present his paper at the Faculty of Arts International Conference 2014, Revisiting Social Responsibility in Context of Crisis: Challenges and Possibilities in Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, Prof. Abhijit Dasgupta from the University of Delhi delivered the Keynote address titled A Long Way to Home: Home-coming Narratives of the Displaced at this Symposium held on the 17th of November 2014. Prof. Abhijit Dasgupta is the Head of the Department of Sociology, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.
During his three day stay in Sri Lanka he made it an opportunity to visit the CCIS and had a meeting with Dr. Sandagomi Coperahewa, Director/CCIS on future collaborations between the CCIS and the University of Delhi.
