On 19th July 2023, the Centre for Contemporary Indian Studies (CCIS) organized an Indian Movie Day. This was held successfully at the New Arts Theatre of University of Colombo, with a large audience in attendance. The award-winning and popular Hindi films “Queen” and “Fanna” were screened here.
Marking the commencement of the Indian Movie Day, Senior Cinema Commentator, Mr. Gamini Weragama delivered the guest lecture on the Indian film industry and its evolution. He also made a review about the two movies that were screened at the movie day.
