The CCIS coordinated an online Certificate Course in Gandhian Philosophy with the Career Guidance Unit, University of Colombo and the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), High Commission of India, Colombo to commemorate 75 years of Indian independence. The classes were conducted by eminent Gandhian Smt. Shobhana Radhakrishna. She is the Chief Functionary, Gandhian Forum for Ethical Corporate Governance, SCOPE, New Delhi, and Trustee, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Memorial Trust, India.
The broad topics covered in the course were Gandhian Philosophy of Truth, Non-violence, Sarvodaya, Satyagraha and Swaraj, Transformational Leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, Gandhian Economics of Trusteeship, Mahatma Gandhi’s Spirituality, Wellness, Nature cure and Environmental credo and Mahatma Gandhi’s Ashrams, Khadi, Charkha, Swadeshi and Minimalistic living. Twenty undergraduates of the University of Colombo completed this online course and they were awarded certificates, digitally signed by the High Commissioner of India, Colombo, and Smt. Shobhana Radhakrishna.
