The Centre for Contemporary Indian Studies (CCIS) organized a guest lecture, Indian Economy by Mrs. Suja K. Menon, Head, Economic & Commercial Wing, High Commission of India to  Sri Lanka on 22nd October 2018, 9.00am -11am  at the Auditorium of Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo. The academics and the students from the Department of International Relations of the University of Colombo have participated to the forum.

Mrs. Menon, spoke very insightfully regarding the bird’s view on India, evolvement and its growth. The forum was focused on India’s contemporary developments on multiple fields; such as ICT, automobile, Science and Technology and new innovations. It also explored the current status of Sri Lanka and India economic relations and determined the development of different industries in Indian context and its contribution to the world Economy.  The one and half hour event concluded with a question and answer session where Students and the academics of the University of Colombo were effectively interacted with Mrs. Menon.

The forum has given an eye opening impact to students in Sri Lanka where it has contributed to enhance the knowledge, vision and provided a vast knowledge about Indo- Lanka economic relations.
