Commemorating the arrival of Most Venerable Sanghamitta Theri from India to Sri Lanka, the Jataka Tales Audio Book – 2 was released at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), High Commission of India on 2nd December 2022. The Jataka Tales Audio Book – 2 is a joint venture of the Centre for Contemporary Indian Studies and the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre. The Audio Book contains 50 Jataka Tales, selected from Jatakattakatha under the theme of ‘Good Advice’ and it is dedicated to the people of Sri Lanka, particularly the visually impaired.

Most Venerable Mahasangha, High Commissioner of India His Excellency Gopal Baglay, Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Vinod K. Jacob, Acting Director/CCIS Dr. U. P. P. Serasinghe and several senior functionaries and representatives from various organizations participated in this event.

The Jataka Tales Audio Book – 2 project was supervised by Most Ven. Rambukana Siddhartha Thero, several experts like Prof. Upul Ranjith Hewawitanagamage, Former Director/CCIS and Chair Senior Professor of Hindi Studies, University of Kelaniya, Dr. W. A. Abeysinghe and Ms. Wathsala Samarakoon, a popular TV and Radio presenter contributed towards this historic initiative.
